Children fare – discounts in European trains

• children can travel free of charge until they complete 4 years, on some railways until 6 years old (Attika Enterprisses – Italy/Greece, Belgium, Denmark, Croatia, Finland, Luxemburg, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland) in case you do not require seat reservation
• 50 % discount from regular fare for children until 12 years, in some railways up to 16 years old:

  until 14 – Hungary

  until 15 – Germany and Austria

  until 16 – Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain

Czech railways children discount

For transportation within the Czech republic, the Czech railways provide discount according to the international tariff: children until 6 years old travel free (if you do not require seat reservation) and 50 % discount is provided for children from 6 to 15 years old. The same applies for transportation between Czech and Slovakian railways.
