Am planning to go by train, Vienna-to-Prague, Oct 8, 2012. I'll reach Vienna
by bicycle (from Amsterdam, via the Rhine & Danube valleys). Any special
arrangements required to take my bicycle on the train? Many thanks, JS.

Not all the train stake bicycles – see the description of the specific
train to make sure it takes bikes. Also, you will have to buy a reservation for
your bike before you board the train.

Thanks, Pavel. I've checked the train we want (EC 172, Vindobona) & it
accepts bicycles. Do I have to put my bike in a box or other packaging? Is that
available at Bahnhof Wien Meidling? Thanks, JS.

There is no required packaging so it's completely up to you.
