Après 11 ans, le Championnat mondial de hockey sur glace est de retour à la République tchèque. La capitale du pays Prague et la troisième plus grande ville Ostrava organisent cette année le championnat dans les arènes les plus modernes en République tchèque.

• Group A: Suède, Canada, République tchèque, Suisse, Lettonie, France, Allemagne, Autriche
• Groupe B: Finlande, Russie, Etats-Unis, Slovaquie, Norvège, Biélorussie, Slovénie, Danemark
