Its program features jazz, classical music, sophisticated crossover, early music, and world music, all performed by some of the most remarkable musicians of our time. The festival is held from September through November and in addition to nine evening concerts, it includes a family weekend for children and their (playful) parents entitled Strings for Kids, as well as a mini/festival of upcoming talent from the Czech and international scenes.

In its imaginative pairings of artist and concert hall, Strings has given its audience a range of magical concert-going experiences, whether in the splendour of Prague’s most venerable concert halls (Rudolfinum, Obecni Dum), or in more intimate settings such as St Anna’s Church and the Spanish Synagogue.

In recent years, Strings has continued to go from strength to strength, bringing a host of world-class artists to Prague: Brad Mehldau, Cassandra Wilson, Ute Lemper, Dianne Reeves, Anne-Sofie von Otter, Bobby McFerrin… and the list goes on.
